Richard represented South Africa internationally as a semi-professional card player before earning a BSc in Financial and Actuarial Science and becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst. Since 2008, he has managed discretionary equity portfolios and held senior analyst roles at Investec and Protea Capital Management. In 2024, he founded Urquhart Partners, where he leads all investment decisions and manages the fund.
